As a mother, you want what's best for your children. But when it comes to shampoo, is more always better? How often should you be washing your little one's locks, and do they really need shampoo every time? Let's take a closer look at the great shampoo debate.

The Case for Shampooing

On the one hand, you have the case for shampooing. Proponents of this camp say that shampoo helps to keep hair clean and healthy-looking by removing dirt, oil, and product build-up. Shampoo also helps to prevent scalp problems like dandruff, itchiness, and flaking. In short, they say that yes, kids need shampoo—and lots of it!

The Case Against Shampooing

On the other hand, you have the case against shampooing. Detractors of this camp say that shampoo strips hair of its natural oils, which can actually cause more scalp problems in the long run. They also say that over-washing can lead to dryness, frizziness, and breakage. So, they say that no, kids don't need shampoo—and that less is actually more.

So, who's right? When it comes to the great shampoo debate, there are valid arguments on both sides. As a general rule of thumb, most experts recommend washing your child's hair every two to three days using a mild shampoo. However, if your child has dry or sensitive skin, you may want to limit washes to once a week or even less.

Ultimately, it's up to you to decide what works best for your child, but now you at least have all the facts!
